Terms & Conditions
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to RainbowApp, an educational and community application developed as part of the RainbowUp Project. RainbowApp aims to promote inclusion, diversity, awareness, wellbeing and respectful communication by bringing together educational resources, useful information, events and opportunities for community interaction.
These Terms & Conditions explain how RainbowApp may be used, the responsibilities of registered users and the rules governing participation in the community forum. They are intended to support a safe, respectful and accessible environment in which users can explore information, exchange ideas and participate constructively.
By accessing or using RainbowApp, users are expected to comply with these Terms & Conditions and applicable laws. These terms apply to RainbowApp on Android and iOS, including its educational resources, Events Calendar, external resource links and community forum.
2. Free Access and Available Features
RainbowApp is completely free to use. There are no subscription fees or payments required to access its educational materials, informational resources, Events Calendar or community forum. Creating and maintaining a forum account is also free.
Most features are accessible without registration, allowing users to explore the application and its publicly available content freely. Registration is required only for those who wish to participate actively in forum discussions.
RainbowApp provides educational materials and information concerning inclusion, diversity, awareness and wellbeing, together with links to support services and other useful resources. Its Events Calendar presents relevant activities and initiatives, while the community forum offers a space for users to ask questions, share experiences and engage in discussions.
Some resources and events may be provided by external organisations operating independently of RainbowApp. Access to RainbowApp remains free regardless of any separate conditions that those organisations may establish for their own services.
3. Community Forum Registration
Users who wish to participate in the community forum must create a free account. Registration requires only a username and an email address, while any additional profile information is optional.
The username identifies the account and may appear alongside public forum contributions. The email address is used for account administration and related communications and is not intended to be displayed publicly as part of forum discussions.
Users are responsible for providing a valid email address and maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. They should not share access to their accounts or attempt to access accounts belonging to other users.
An account is not required to browse publicly available forum discussions. Users who prefer not to register may continue accessing the application’s educational and informational content without participating in forum conversations.
4. Account and Profile Management
Registered users can access their forum profiles and the available account management options through the forum interface. These options allow users to manage their account information, update optional profile details, change their password and access other supported account features.
Additional profile information is provided voluntarily. Users should consider that certain details included in public profile fields may be visible to others and should avoid sharing information that they would prefer to keep confidential.
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate account information where necessary for account administration and for protecting their access credentials. Anyone experiencing difficulties managing their account may contact the RainbowUp team at team@rainbowup.eu.
5. New Member Status and Spam Protection
To help protect the community against spam, automated abuse and inappropriate promotional activity, RainbowApp applies enhanced spam protection measures to newly registered forum users.
During their first 5 forum posts, users are classified as “New” and are subject to the forum’s enhanced spam control measures. These restrictions are part of the forum’s standard configuration and are intended to help maintain the quality and safety of community discussions.
The New Member period does not mean that users are prevented from participating. They may contribute to discussions in accordance with the permissions and restrictions applicable to their accounts.
The forum’s security and moderation mechanisms continue to apply after the initial five-post period. Reaching this threshold does not exempt users from community rules or other applicable security restrictions.
6. Restrictions on Posting Links
To reduce spam, unwanted advertising and potentially harmful external links, RainbowApp requires users to have a minimum of 5 forum posts before they can post links in their contributions.
Users who have not yet reached this threshold are subject to the forum’s link-posting restriction. Once the requirement has been met, links may be included where permitted by the forum’s other settings and community rules.
All links shared within the forum must be relevant, lawful and appropriate to the discussion. Users must not publish malicious links, misleading destinations, spam, unsolicited promotional material or links intended to compromise the security or privacy of other users.
Attempts to circumvent the link-posting restriction or misuse the forum for promotional or harmful purposes may result in moderation measures.
7. File Attachments and Restricted File Types
RainbowApp allows file attachments only in accordance with the forum’s permissions and security configuration. To reduce the risk of spam and unsafe uploads, users must have a minimum of 5 forum posts before they can attach files to their contributions.
Reaching this threshold does not mean that all file types become permitted. For security reasons, the forum prohibits attachments with the following file extensions:
Restricted file extensions:
pdf | doc | docx | txt | htm | html | rtf | xml | xls | xlsx | zip | rar | tar | gz | bzip | 7z
These restrictions apply to all users, regardless of their number of posts. Other file types may be subject to the formats, limits and security rules supported by the forum.
Users must not attempt to bypass attachment restrictions by disguising file extensions, modifying files to evade security checks or uploading material that could harm the application or its users. Attachments must also comply with the community’s rules regarding privacy, intellectual property and appropriate content.
8. Community Standards and Acceptable Behaviour
RainbowApp aims to provide a welcoming environment where individuals can exchange ideas, ask questions and share experiences respectfully. Users are encouraged to communicate constructively, recognise different perspectives and contribute to discussions in a manner that supports the application’s educational and community objectives.
Disagreement and constructive debate are welcome, provided that participants respect one another. Differences of opinion must not be used as a justification for harassment, intimidation, discrimination or personal attacks.
The following behaviour is prohibited within the community forum:
- Harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation directed at individuals or groups.
- Hate speech, discriminatory language or abusive conduct.
- Deliberate personal attacks, humiliation or repeated hostile behaviour.
- Publishing another person’s private or confidential information without an appropriate lawful basis.
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, repetitive promotional messages or misleading content.
- Sharing malicious links, harmful files or content intended to compromise security.
- Impersonating another person or deliberately misrepresenting one’s identity.
- Publishing unlawful material or content that infringes the rights of others.
- Attempting to bypass forum restrictions, security controls or moderation measures.
- Deliberately disrupting discussions or interfering with other users’ ability to participate.
Users are expected to respect these standards when publishing topics, responding to others, updating their profiles or interacting through any available forum feature. Content that violates these rules may be subject to moderation.
9. Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing
The community forum allows users to communicate publicly, and information shared in public discussions may be visible to registered members and other visitors. Users should therefore consider the potential consequences of disclosing personal information and exercise caution when discussing sensitive subjects.
RainbowApp does not require users to reveal their real identity, sexual orientation, health information or other sensitive personal characteristics to participate in the forum. The use of an appropriate username or pseudonym can help users avoid unnecessarily disclosing their identity.
Users must respect the privacy of others and should not publish personal information, private correspondence, photographs or other identifying details concerning another individual without an appropriate lawful basis. Particular care should be taken when information relates to minors or individuals in vulnerable circumstances.
Further information about the collection, use and protection of personal data is provided in the RainbowApp Privacy Policy.
10. User-Generated Content
The community forum allows users to contribute their own questions, comments, opinions and experiences. Users remain responsible for the content they choose to publish and must ensure that their contributions comply with applicable law, community standards and the rights of other individuals.
Forum contributions should be relevant to the discussion and presented in a respectful manner. Users must not publish content that infringes copyright, violates privacy, contains unlawful material or deliberately misleads or harms other participants.
Opinions expressed by forum users represent their individual views and do not necessarily reflect the positions of RainbowApp, the RainbowUp Project or its participating organisations. Users should exercise their own judgement when reading advice, experiences or recommendations shared by other community members.
Content that violates these Terms & Conditions may be reviewed, restricted or removed as part of the forum’s moderation processes.
11. Forum Moderation and Community Safety
RainbowApp may use moderation measures to protect the community, maintain constructive discussions and address violations of the applicable rules. Moderation may involve reviewing reported content, removing inappropriate contributions or restricting participation where necessary.
Depending on the circumstances and seriousness of a violation, administrators or moderators may take appropriate measures, including issuing warnings, removing content, temporarily restricting participation or suspending or deleting accounts. Such actions should be proportionate to the circumstances and consistent with applicable legal requirements.
Moderation is intended to support respectful participation rather than discourage legitimate discussion or differences of opinion. Users are encouraged to report privacy concerns, harassment, abusive behaviour or other inappropriate activity to the RainbowUp team at team@rainbowup.eu.
12. Educational Materials and Information
RainbowApp provides educational content intended to promote learning, understanding, inclusion and awareness. Materials may cover a range of subjects, including diversity, wellbeing, personal experiences, community support and related educational topics.
The information is intended for general educational and informational purposes. While users may find it useful when exploring a subject or considering available support, it should not automatically be treated as a substitute for personalised advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
In particular, information concerning mental health, wellbeing or personal circumstances should not replace professional assessment, diagnosis, treatment or individual support where these are needed. Users are encouraged to seek assistance from appropriate professionals or support services when their circumstances require specialised guidance.
13. Events Calendar and External Activities
RainbowApp includes an Events Calendar that presents information about activities, initiatives, meetings, workshops and other events. Listings may include event descriptions, dates, locations, organiser details and links to external event information or registration services.
Some events are organised independently by third-party organisations, institutions or community groups. Unless expressly indicated otherwise, including an event in RainbowApp does not mean that the RainbowUp Project is responsible for organising, managing or delivering that event.
Users wishing to attend an event should consult the relevant organiser for accurate information about participation requirements, registration procedures, availability or changes to the programme. Any separate arrangements made with external organisers are subject to the conditions established by those organisations.
RainbowApp does not control the activities of independent organisers and cannot guarantee that external event information will remain unchanged. Users are therefore encouraged to verify important details directly with the relevant source.
14. External Links, Resources and Support Services
RainbowApp provides links to external resources, educational materials, support organisations and other services to help users access relevant information. These resources are included for informational and educational purposes and may be operated by independent organisations.
External services may establish their own terms, privacy policies, eligibility conditions or other participation requirements. Users who choose to access such services should review the applicable information before registering, sharing personal details or relying on the services provided.
RainbowApp does not control the content, availability, security or independent activities of external services. The inclusion of a resource or link does not automatically imply endorsement of every statement, policy or activity associated with the external provider.
We encourage users to exercise appropriate judgement, particularly when accessing services involving personal, confidential or sensitive matters.
15. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials
The educational materials, text, graphics, images, logos and other content available through RainbowApp may be protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. The ownership and permitted use of individual resources depend on the rights and licences applicable to the relevant material.
Users should respect copyright notices, licensing conditions and any other applicable restrictions when downloading, sharing, reproducing or otherwise using content. The availability of material through RainbowApp does not automatically grant permission for unrestricted reproduction, redistribution or commercial exploitation.
Users who publish their own content in the forum must ensure that they have the right to share it and that doing so does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights of third parties.
16. Application Availability and Updates
RainbowApp is available through Android and iOS-compatible installation methods and provides access to its educational, informational and community features without charge.
We aim to maintain the accessibility and functionality of the application, although temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical issues, service disruptions or circumstances beyond our control. Continuous or uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
The application and its features may be updated, improved or modified over time to address technical requirements, introduce improvements or maintain appropriate security and operational standards. Where changes materially affect users’ rights or obligations, applicable notification requirements will be respected.
17. Account Security and Responsibilities
Registered users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and taking reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorised access. Passwords should be kept confidential, and users should avoid sharing their accounts with others.
Users must not attempt to access another person’s account, interfere with the operation of the forum or circumvent technical restrictions. Any suspected account compromise, unauthorised activity or other security concern should be reported to the RainbowUp team.
Users should also exercise caution when following links or interacting with content shared by other community members. Although the forum applies restrictions and moderation measures, individual responsibility remains important for maintaining a safe community environment.
18. Account Deletion and Termination
Registered users who no longer wish to participate in the forum may access the available account deletion functionality through their forum account settings. They may also request assistance by contacting team@rainbowup.eu.
Account deletion requests and the handling of associated personal information are governed by the RainbowApp Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation. Where public contributions contain personal information, requests for their removal or anonymisation will be assessed according to the relevant legal requirements.
Uninstalling RainbowApp from a device does not automatically delete the user’s registered forum account. Users wishing to remove their accounts should use the available account management functionality or submit a deletion request.
RainbowApp may also restrict or terminate accounts where necessary to address serious or repeated violations of these Terms & Conditions, subject to applicable legal requirements.
19. Responsibilities and Limitations
RainbowApp is intended to provide educational resources, useful information and opportunities for respectful community participation. Although reasonable efforts may be made to maintain the quality and relevance of available content, users should exercise independent judgement when interpreting information or relying on contributions published by others.
The RainbowUp Project is not responsible for the independent statements, conduct or activities of external event organisers, third-party service providers or individual forum participants. User-generated content and external resources should not automatically be interpreted as official recommendations or positions of the project.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit legal rights, consumer protections or other responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable legislation.
20. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions may be revised to reflect changes in RainbowApp’s features, forum configuration, community standards or applicable legal requirements. The latest revision date will be displayed at the beginning of the document.
Where changes require specific notification or acceptance under applicable law, the relevant requirements will be followed. Users are encouraged to review the Terms & Conditions periodically to remain informed about the rules governing their use of the application.
